Cookies Policy
This policy explains how Amon Casino uses cookies and similar technologies, what each group of cookies is for, and how you can control them. It covers our public pages, the cashier and your account area.

What cookies are and why we use them
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. When you return to the site, your browser sends that file back, so we can recognise the device and remember what happened last time, for example that you are signed in or that you have already closed a notice.
We also use technologies that work in a similar way, including pixels in e-mails and on pages, software kits inside mobile apps, and the local storage built into your browser. Where this policy says cookies, it covers all of these.
We use them for a small number of practical reasons:
- Keeping the site working: signing you in, holding your session open as you move between pages, and loading the cashier correctly.
- Keeping accounts safe: spotting unusual sign-in patterns, limiting automated attempts to reach an account, and supporting the obligations that come with holding a gaming licence and verifying accounts.
- Remembering your choices: your language, your display preferences and the answers you gave in the cookie notice.
- Understanding how the site is used: which pages load slowly, where people stop part-way through a form, and which errors need fixing.
- Measuring our own messages: how many people saw a message and which page a visitor arrived from.
Strictly necessary cookies are set as soon as you open the site, because the site cannot be delivered without them. Every other group is set only if you agree in the cookie notice, and you can change or withdraw that agreement whenever you like.
The types of cookies we use
We group cookies into the four categories below. The table at the end of this section summarises them.
Strictly necessary
These make the site function. They keep your session open after you sign in, remember which step of a deposit or withdrawal you have reached, spread traffic across our servers so pages load, record the choices you made in the cookie notice, and help us block attempts to use your session from somewhere else. They cannot be switched off from within the site.
Performance and analytics
These tell us how the site behaves in practice: how long pages take to load, which screens are opened most often, where a form is abandoned, and which error messages appear. The results are used in totals and trends rather than to build a picture of you as a named player.
Functionality
These remember settings so you do not have to set them again, such as language, how game lists are displayed, whether a live chat window was already open, and whether a reminder has been shown in the current session. Your safer gambling settings themselves, including deposit limits and time-outs, are held against your account rather than in a cookie.
Marketing
These measure whether our own messages reached anyone, limit how often the same message is shown, and recognise a device that has seen a page before. They are also used to suppress promotional messaging where it must not appear, for example for a player who has taken a break or asked not to receive it. The site is for adults aged 18 or over, and we do not knowingly direct marketing cookies at anyone under that age.
| Type | What it is for | Set only with your consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sign-in, sessions, cashier steps, security | No, the site cannot run without them |
| Performance and analytics | Page speed, usage totals, error reporting | Yes |
| Functionality | Language and display settings you have chosen | Yes |
| Marketing | Measuring and limiting our own messages | Yes |
How long cookies last and who sets them
Some cookies are session cookies, which disappear when you close the browser. Others are persistent and stay on the device for a set period so a setting survives between visits. The lifetime of each cookie is listed in the cookie notice on the site.
Some cookies are set by our own domain. Others are set by the suppliers who provide parts of the service, such as analytics, fraud prevention, live chat and game content. We do not list those suppliers here, because the list changes; the current one, with the purpose of each cookie, is shown in the cookie notice.
Where a supplier sets a cookie, it handles the data under its own terms as well as the arrangements we have agreed with it. How we treat personal data generally is set out in our privacy policy.
How to manage cookies
In the cookie notice on this site
- Open the cookie settings from the link in the site footer.
- Turn the analytics, functionality and marketing categories on or off.
- Save your choices; they apply from that point on the device and browser you are using.
- Come back to the same settings at any time to change them.
Your choices are themselves stored in a cookie. If you clear your cookies or use a different browser or device, the notice will appear again and you will need to set your preferences once more.
In your browser or device
Browser settings give you control that goes beyond this site. The privacy or security area of most browsers offers the following options.
- You can block all cookies, or block only those set by domains other than ours.
- You can delete the cookies that are already stored on your device.
- You can have cookies cleared automatically each time you close the browser.
- You can browse in a private window, which discards cookies at the end of the session.
Mobile phones and tablets also have a system setting that limits advertising identifiers. The steps differ between browsers and devices, so use the help pages of the one you are using.
What happens if you block them
You can use most of our public pages with analytics, functionality and marketing cookies switched off. Blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies has a wider effect:
- You may not be able to sign in, or you may be signed out as you move between pages.
- A deposit or withdrawal started in the cashier may not complete.
- Games may fail to load, or may lose a round that is still in progress.
- Settings such as your language choice reset on every visit.
- On-screen prompts and session information may not display correctly.
- The cookie notice reappears each time you arrive.
Changes to this policy and how to reach us
We update this policy when the cookies we use change, when a supplier is added or removed, or when the rules we work to are amended. The current version is always the one on this page, and the date it took effect is shown at the top.
If you have a question about cookies, want the current list of the cookies in use, or need help changing your settings, write to support@casinoamon.co.uk or use the live chat on the site. Tell us which browser and device you are using, as that is usually what we need to check first.
Our services are for adults aged 18 or over. If gambling is becoming a problem, you can set a deposit limit or a time-out in your account, or ask us to close it. Free and confidential help is available from GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline, information and tools from GambleAware, and self-exclusion from licensed online operators through GamStop.
